Pitch2Peer allows your students to upload short pitches, videos, blogs, and presentations. Students can then be asked to give peer feedback on each other's entries thus enhancing the learning opportunities in the course. Pitch2Peer as a peer feedback tool works especially well when the (final) product that students create during an assignment is not a written document, but rather other types of submissions such as a video, audio file or presentation. Other peer feedback tools may only accept written documents such as word or pdf. For text documents we suggest Peerceptiv or FeedbackFruits Peer Review.
While working on their assignments or before turning in the final assignment product to the teacher, students can upload their product in Pitch2Peer for peer feedback using criteria defined by you. If you’re not familiar with the concept, peer feedback is described as students taking an active role in giving feedback on each other’s projects, group skills, presentations, or other assignments. For more information on the rationale behind using peer feedback in your course, please visit our page on Peer Feedback.
Pitch2Peer needs to be requested and set up via Nestorsupport (more information on this is located on the bottom of this page). Once made available you can then access the Pitch2Peer tool via Nestor. The first page you see is the homepage that looks like this:
A few things can be found in the tabs above:
Home: Quick overview of assignments and number of pitches.
Gallery: Overview of assignments and pitches.
Manage Module: Change settings and in-depth information about assignments.
The Manage Module page gives you several options:
Pitches turned in
Peer reviews turned in
Students entered in Pitch2Peer
Instructions for creating assignments follow:
As seen in the image above, create and name the assignment and decide what type of medium students turn in. You can also select whether students turn in the assignment as individual or as a group. Set the deadline for the assignment and peer review in the different tabs.
Whom to contact?
To use and install Pitch2Peer you must contact Nestorsupport first at email@example.com. Because a license fee is always required and depends on the number of students in your course, they can help you get a quote. Once this quote is approved in your department, Nestorsupport will set up Pitch2Peer in your Nestor environment.
Not exactly what you’re looking for? An alternative for Pitch2Peer is FeedbackFruits Peer Review, which also accepts products in formats other than a written document.
