Download and upload grades to work offline (Grade Center)
Grades should only be published to the student themselves. In compliance with the EU wide AVG (data protection and privay) law, it is not allowed to publish lists of studentnumbers and corresponding grades. Publishing such lists is regarded as an official data leak.
The manual below describes how you can upload grades from an Excel file to the Grade Center in Nestor, or to download grades from the Grade Center.

- Downloading grades from Grade Center
- Make Grades Visible for Students
Importing Grades to Grade Center
It is possible to import grades to the Grade Center from an Excel file or CSV file (Comma Separated Values -file). It is important that the Excel file has the correct format.
If you have not yet created an assignment, follow the steps below ('assign grades in Excel - existing assignment'). If you have already created a column with a specific assignment, follow the steps underneath ('Assign grades in Excel - new assignment').
Pay Attention! If you use the English version of Nestor you use the decimal point to separate the fractional part of your grade (e.g. 6.0). If you use the Dutch version of Nestor you should use the decimal comma (e.g. 6,0).
Assign grades in Excel - new assignment
Create an Excel file with the student numbers in the first column and the grades in the second column.
Pay Attention! see the yellow box above!
Enter 'Username' in the header of the first column. Enter the usernames on the lines below (see screenshot below). Make sure all student numbers are preceded by an 's'. Pay Attention! If you use the Dutch version of Nestor, use 'Gebruikersnaam' instead of 'Username'. In both cases the use of a capital letter is crucial.
Enter the name of your assignment in the header of the second column. Enter the grades, corresponding to that row's username, on the lines below (see screenshot below). Pay Attention! Do not use spacing, this can cause errors when uploading. The sheet should look something like this:
