On this page you will find instructions on how to enroll for courses.
To enrol yourself for a course, you will have to log in to Progress Portaal. You can do so on https://progressportaal.nl/rug using your the same username and password you use for Nestor and other university services. If you encounter problems logging into your account, please contact Progress Support at email@example.com.
Please note that enroling for a course in Progress Portaal will not instantly give you access to the corresponding Nestor course. These system need some time to synchronise their enrolments. After enroling you should have access to the Nestor course within one day. If this is not the case, please contact Nestorsupport at firstname.lastname@example.org
Viewing your current enrolments
Once you are logged in, you will find your enrolments under the tab 'Enrolling' as shown in the screenshot below. On this screen, you will find all your current enrolments on the right side. You can see their name, course code and the number of study points.
Enrolling for a new course
To enrol yourself into a new course, you will have to focus your attention on the left side of the screen. Over here you will find a list of all the faculties of the university. Find the course you would like to enrol for by navigating the menu on the left. In the example below we are enrolling in a course from the Faculty of Law.
Once you have found the course you would like to enrol in, you can check the box positioned on the right of the course. After checking the box, you can click on the 'enrol' button to confirm your enrolment. The course will now appear on the right side along with your other current enrolments and you are enrolled.
The period for enrolling is different for each faculty. Usually you will get informed in time by the faculty via email. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact the administration of the relevant study programme for more information: Education desk and Student administration
If the checkbox is not available, you might not have the necessary requirements for the course. You can find the necessary requirements for a course on Ocasys. Alternatively, the enrolment might only be open for a certain periode of time. If you encounter this problem, please contact the administration of the relevant study programme for more information: Education desk and Student administration
Unenrolling from an enrolled course
You can unenroll yourself from a course by checking the ‘Check out’ box behind the course in the table of ‘Enrollments’ and clicking on the 'deregister' button. Please note that deregistering by yourself can only be done during specific periods.
